8th Odessa International Film Festival

The Odessa International Film Festival is changing the location for open-air screenings. Instead of the Lanzheron descent, the special open-air screenings will be shown at the Stella Artois Green Theatre. The history of the Green Theatre dates back to the 19th century, but officially the theatre was opened in 1936. Unfortunately, “The Green” entered the 21st century in a neglected and almost destroyed state. The Green Theatre celebrated its 80th anniversary restored and renewed, and by holding numerous events – film screenings, master classes, concerts, creative evenings, etc. – restored its former glory as a significant cultural object. This year the first and only open-air amphitheatre in Odessa will become a venue for open-air film screenings within the framework of OIFF. Traditionally, the special screenings are supported by the №1 Belgian beer in the world Stella Artois.

“OIFF could not ignore the revival of one of the most visited and sought-after summer cinema locations in Odessa. This is a modern location, which is loved by the people of Odessa and serves as a place where important city events take place. The Green Theatre is best suited to the scale of the film festival – both in its location and its technical equipment. In addition, the viewing experience will become more comfortable, since the Green Theatre is able to accommodate more viewers. Therefore, we decided to move special screenings there instead of the Lanzheron descent”, notes the general producer of OIFF Yulia Sinkevich.

Stella Artois Green Theatre will have two zones – the audience zone and the lounge zone. Access to the audience zone is free and open to all guests, and the lounge zone will be accessible by invitation tickets and festival badges. Tickets can also be purchased at the festival ticket offices.

We remind you that last week the Odessa International Film Festival presented a new promo video with Aidan Turner in the lead role.
